Red-hot auction market ends the year on all-time high
Auction sales of Old Masters, Impressionist, Modern, Post-War and Contemporary art ended the year 74% higher than 2020, and just surpassed its previous peak in 2018. However, the world is ending the year on a note of increasing uncertainty. The new Omicron variant is again forcing large parts of the world back to social restrictions and lockdowns. Could this derail the red-hot art market recovery that we saw this year, or has the global art market already adapted to a new world shaped by the pandemic?
In this report we take a close look at the global auction market in 2021 and some of the key trends emerging across different fine art segments.
We are delighted to present our second ArtTactic The Art Market 2021 – an annual review that captures some of the key art market trends and moments over the last 12 months.
