British artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye (b. 1977, London) is acclaimed for her enigmatic portraits of fictitious people that exist outside of specific times and places. Created from found images and her own imagination, Yiadom-Boakye’s paintings raise questions of identity and representation and invite the viewers to project their own interpretations. Currently based in London, she attended Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London (1996-1997), Falmouth School of Art (1997-2000) and the Royal Academy Schools in London (2000-2003).
