American artist Hilary Pecis (b. 1979, Fullerton, CA) is best known for her vibrant and highly detailed landscapes and still life paintings, featuring richly coloured floral arrangements and tranquil domestic settings. Pecis’ style draws comparison to David Hockney, through her use of vivid colours and textures, and painting on a flat plane, through which she transforms domestic settings into rich and memorable scenes depicting the intimate spaces around her. Pecis graduated with a BFA at the California College of Arts, Oakland, in 2006, where she also received her MFA in 2009. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
