Single owner collections lift the market as New York Marquee evening sales reach an all-time high

The widely anticipated November mega-sales in New York, which included two major single owner collections, saw auction sales jump 16.5% from November 2021 and 219% from Autumn 2020.

Total sales from Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips New York Impressionist, Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening auctions raised $2.27 billion (hammer price) against the total pre-sale estimate of $2.07 billion to $2.59 billion.
