ArtTactic Analysis: Phillips gains market share as London’s contemporary evening sales jump 24% from last year.
ArtTactic Analysis: The Post-War & Contemporary Evening sales during London’s Frieze week raised a total of £87,521,000 (excluding buyer’s premium). However, this fell just short of the pre-sales estimates of £87,550,000 to £121,660,000. The total among Sotheby’s, Phillips and Christie’s was 24.4% higher than October 2014.
Phillips achieved an evening sale total of £26.91 million, within the pre-sale estimate of £24.41 million to £36.66 million. This was more than twice the sales total achieved in October 2014.
