London’s March Marquee evening sales reach a 4-year high with totals of just over £400 million
Strong London results signal confidence in the market, despite the geo-political uncertainty. Across five London evening sales of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art, Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips, raised £400.7 million against the total pre-sale estimate of £376.7 million to £517.7 million.
As predicted in our last Art Market Confidence Survey (February 2022), the demand for NextGen artists continues unabated. All three houses set many new auction records for NextGen artists in March 2022.
