Sandy Kemper – The Collectors Fund
In this week’s episode of the ArtTactic Podcast, Sandy Kemper, founder of The Collectors Fund, returns to update us on his art investment fund. First, Sandy tells us since its inception in 2007, the fund has returned 12.6% IRR per year on the assets they’ve sold thus far. Then, as someone who actively trades artworks for his fund, he shares his unique perspective on the current state of the art market as well as if he has any concerns moving forward. Also, Sandy explains what strategies he embraces when acquiring works for the fund and then later on when and through what medium he sells works. Lastly, Sandy speculates why the art investment fund industry has remained relatively stagnant despite the art market growing substantially over the past five years.
