New York’s evening sales of Post-War and Contemporary art up 8.3% from May 2018
The Post-War and Contemporary art evening sales in New York last week raised a total of $849,430,000* (excluding buyer’s premium), just inside the total pre-sale estimate of $841,320,000 – $1,142,380,000; 8.3% increase from May 2018 and 34.1% higher than the sales total in November 2017.
Financial guarantees increase 42.3% by value in the last 12 month
The overall value of guarantees (based on the low estimate) increased by 42.3% from November last year, from $377.5 million to $537.17 million based on the low estimate of these lots.
