American artist Avery Singer (b. 1987, New York) is known for her large-
scale satirical paintings that blur the boundary between digital and analogue production. Singer employs 3D modelling software to construct her compositions, of blocky and geometric figures and scenes, which she transfers onto canvas in acrylic paint using an airbrush. Working predominantly in greyscale, her paintings teeter between abstraction and figuration, and combine early digital aesthetics with elements of Constructivism, Futurism, and Cubism. Singer received a BFA from Cooper Union in New York in 2010 and an MA from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2013. She lives and works in New York.
