Spring Marquee evening sales in London fall just 14% short of last year’s pre-pandemic total

Spring has brought some positivity to the London art market, with total sales from Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips London Impressionist, Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening auctions raising £238.6 million against the total pre-sale estimate of £183.1 million to £264.9 million. Although this was was 13.8% lower than February last year, it was a solid performance considering the challenging situation.
