In this episode of the ArtTactic Podcast we're joined by Marek Claassen, Director of Artfacts.net, a website that specializes in tracking and ranking contemporary artists from around the world. Marek begins by discussing the intricacies behind Artfacts.net's artist ranking system, which judges artists based on their exhibition success rather than auction results. Then, he shares with us the Top 10 overall artists on the ranking list as well as the Top 10 artists in the rankings who are born after 1950. Later, Marek addresses significant trends he has detected in his artist rankings since the market downturn, including a drastic contraction in total exhibitions in the art world.
